Home State Bank announced last week the addition of one new board member, Jamie Daubendiek. Daubendiek is general manager of Jefferson Telecom, a fifth generation employee who succeeded his father as general manager in 2019.
Bank president Sid Jones said, “Jamie has a strong understanding of community businesses and brings a fresh new perspective to community banking.”
Daubendiek returned to Jefferson Telecom in 2009 after completing his BA from Luther College in Decorah and his MBA in telecommunications from the University of Colorado. During his tenure at Jefferson Telecom, he has proven to be a visionary leader advocating for higher internet speeds, Wi-Fi management technology, hosted phone systems for business customers, encouraging streaming technology and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV).
Daubendiek is actively involved in committees for the Iowa Communications Alliance and has lobbied for the betterment of independent Telco’s in our state. He was on the initial application committee to bring the Main Street program to Jefferson in 2012. He has remained on the board since 2012 and became president in 2014. In 2019, Jefferson Matters; Main Street was selected as a semifinalist for the Great American Main Street Award.
Jamie and his wife Cindi have four children.
“Home State Bank has been a community leader for many decades. I have enjoyed watching their success and especially how their culture has evolved over the years. I’m very honored and excited to be joining the board of directors of such a forward-thinking organization,” Daubendiek said.
Jones shared, “As Home State Bank continues to grow with our communities and businesses, we are excited to grow our next generation of leadership and welcome Jamie to our board of directors. Jamie, being a lifelong resident of Greene County and active in his family’s multi-generation telephone and communications company, is a perfect fit for Home State Bank. Jamie’s commitment and connection to the community, combined with his deep knowledge of technology and the communications industry, adds to and complements our already strong board of directors. We look forward to enjoying his leadership for many years to come.“
